PEPSA can assure food companies that their flexible packaging products have the necessary regulatory compliance for the intended application. We have documentation that all components used in the package are recognized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as safe for food contact products (subject to any noted provisions and use restrictions). We have full understanding of food manufacturer requirements so we know it is crucial to select the correct materials for the package to ensure regulatory compliance for the intended application.
All personnel in each facility (including visitors) follow stringent hygiene policies, procedures and protocols to reduce the risk of product contamination.

Our certifications

FSSC 22000 is a Food Safety Management Certification Scheme, managed by Foundation FSSC 22000 and governed by an independent Board of Stakeholders which consists of representatives from several sectors in the food industry. FSSC 22000 is used to control food safety risks. The FSSC 22000 Food Safety System Certification provides a framework for effectively managing your organization’s food safety responsibilities. FSSC 22000 is fully recognized by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) and is based on existing ISO Standards. It demonstrates our company has a robust Food Safety Management System in place that meets the requirements of our customers and consumers.
These are the ISO Standards part of this certification: ISO 22000 (is the International Food Safety standard for businesses within the food chain) and ISO TS 22002-4 (specifies requirements for establishing, implementing and maintaining prerequisite programmes (PRPs) to assist in controlling food safety hazards in the manufacture of food packaging)

Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) is an internationally recognized method of identifying and managing food safety related risk and, when central to an active food safety program, can provide your customers, the public, and regulatory agencies assurance that a food safety program is well managed.
HACCP is a management system in which food safety is addressed through the analysis and control of biological, chemical, and physical hazards from raw material production, procurement and handling, to manufacturing, distribution and consumption of the finished product.
Our raw material (Substrates, Adhesives and Inks) comply with FDA regulations.

FDA (Food & Drugs Administration) regulates the safety of substances added to food and also regulates how most food is processed, packaged, and labeled. We comply with the Code of Federal Regulations and its chapters 21 CFR 177. 1520, 21 CFR 117.1630 (substrates), 21 CFR 175 105 (adhesives), 21 CFR 175.300, 21 CFR 175.320 (inks).

Allergens: Our raw material and our products are manufactured without containing any of the 8 allergenic groups (milk, eggs, nuts, fish, seafood and gluten).
Analysis that we carry out on our products certify that we comply with regulations of accredited laboratories as EMA or ISO 17025:

· Total migration (REGLAMENTO (UE) No 10/2011)
· Full structure analysis (Reach Regulation (174 substances)
